*FAYETTEVILLE DELIVERY SERVICE UPDATE FOR 2024. *

—customers who already donate each time they receive a delivery
If you are a customer in any of the above categories, please put “Free Delivery” in the comments as you finish ordering.
If you request delivery and you are not in the above categories, please choose delivery service as one of your items when you order. You can find this item under Delivery and the cost will be no more than $7 for each delivery date. This service will be charged to your order. Welcome back M&S Farms: Bringing Families back to the supper table! Our little family farms was created to provide a healthy alternative to buying protein for your family. We have a small herd of Angus cattle. We feed a high quality grain based feed and we do vaccinate our livestock to protect against infection and disease. We believe that the animals health is just as important as our own health. We do breed our cattle right here on our little farm. All of them are gentle with the minimum amount of stress. This ensures a better quality of product then you’ll ever get from a grocery store.
Quarter Spring Farm: Do you want to know a great way to warm up in this frigid weather? Eat some farm fresh meat from Quarter Spring Farm. Our pasture raised chicken and grass fed lamb are a great way to pack in some extra calories on these cold days and nights. And you know our meats are great for you, with no antibiotics or growth hormones. Our all natural goat milk soaps and lotions are a great way to protect your skin when the thermometer dips so low. Try one of our amazing scents today to see for yourself why goats milk soap gets such great reviews.
Oakview Farm: Oakview Farm is excited to be back after the holidays! We hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and have stayed warm. We have our Salad Greens mix again this week (the precious greens survived the cold in our high tunnel with no problem!) We also have our homemade Chess pies, Peppermint Patties, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups! Of course, our famous non-yeasted Sourdough bread is on the market- both our regular sourdough boules and a Sourdough Banana bread.
Safe & Sound Soap Co. : If you want to experiment with switching over to natural products in your home check out my products! I first started making my natural body care and laundry products for my family and friends, but now it’s available from my family to yours! All of my products are made from natural ingredients. I also use high quality essential oils to scent all of my products.
Item of the Week: Hanging Car Diffuser!
These hanging diffusers are perfect to freshen up your car! These have a lighter scent than most car air fresheners, and you can control the amount of scent you want by simply tipping the bottle and letting the oils soak into the cap. These are made with essential oils and diffusing oils, and one of them will keep your vehicle smelling fresh for 2 weeks or more!
Carole’s Herbs (CS3 Farms): Welcome to the post subarctic blast. I am writing this email before our hilly sheet of ice road has melted having faith the much warmer temps will melt the shady spots by Wednesday. We have freshly made elderberry syrup and plenty of elderberry spilanthes tincture to fight the colds. We use the tincture daily to keep any viruses at bay. They come in 4oz and 2oz sizes.

This is our WINTER microgren blend! Every season we create new blends to represent the time of year. OUR WINTER blend has ’YELLOW BEETS, RED PAC CHOI, IGLOO CAULIFLOWER and CURLY WATERCRESS.
What better way to start the New Year than with highly nutritional greens called Mirogreens? They pack 40 to 100% more vital nutrients than the adult verion. We grow organically with NON-GMO seeds and nutrient-dense soil. We look forward to providing the best for you in 2024.
NashPhilly: Soup season is here and I added a new soup, a hearty Manhattan clam chowder. Filled with juicy clams and tomatoes, chunky potatoes and carrots. Sure to warm you right up!
Some more hearty and warm dishes are my green bean casserole. And I am now making chicken rosemary pot pie. The casserole is sure to be a delightful side to any dish. I make my own cream of mushroom soup for this and finish it with Parmigiano cheese. The pot pie is what you would be expecting loaded with peas, carrots, potato with the added flavor of rosemary. Puff pastry is laid on top and acts as the pie crust.
Finally if you haven’t had a Philly cheese steaks in a while. Try one of mine! 100% 1/2 pound of rib eye meat, delicious homemade cheese wiz sauce, sautéed onions, red bell peppers, and mushrooms. Sure to be one of the best sandwiches you have ever had!

MISC MARKET NOTES
Two weeks ago we were enjoying a blessed warm day and and today well . . . blessed COLD! May as well try to be positive about it! It seemed like a good time to check in to see what some of our Market vendors are doing these winter days:
Steve of 3LC Apiaries has been giving his bees supplemental syrup to help them get through the winter. He always leaves ample honey on his hives to accomplish this but they’ve consumed so much during previous cold snaps this winter that they risk starvation without intervention. This food will be consumed during cold weather and not stored as honey.
Amanda at Casablanca Ranch reports that their cattle have been eating extra during the cold weather which means giving them extra hay. They also have to make sure pipes don’t freeze so the animals have plenty of water. Sometimes this means busting up ice in water tanks as well.
Dianne, D’s Jellies, is busy in the kitchen. Today she’s making Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream and Butter Pecan Ice Cream from her cookbook, D’s Farmhouse Kitchen Recipes! She will be making Blackberry and Mahaw jelly in the near future from frozen produce grown on her farm. They are looking forward to growing more peppers this year as their famous Pepper Jelly is completely sold out.
Duck Nugget Farm reports that they have to be more diligent to protect their birds from predators in winter. They feed crows year round (did you know crows keep hawks away?) to protect their ducks, geese, and guineas, but with less crows around in wintertime those pesky hawks and owls still sometimes manage to steal a meal. Another protection measure has been to add wind blocks and structural integrity to the shelters where the animals are locked up at night. Besides the added security, they have planted clover and winter rye so their animals can forage on fresh food during the winter months.
Grows in Rows has seedlings going in the hot house!
Hortons Farm has been preparing to move bee hives to a more favorable location. The trees surrounding the original bee yard have grown so that the shade is affecting bee health. It’s too early to attempt relocating right now but we are preparing the new site.
Kathy’s Churpers has been working on rotating their chickens. They report seeing a LOT of deer close by their property including a doe with triplets recently.
Special shout out to Mia at Mount Moriah for the cutest photo (below) this week. No explanation needed about how she cares for her goats!
MT MORIAH FARMS: Hello Winter! We currently have 9 does in milk and lots of little babies running around. Our first rabbit to have babies “kindled” out a couple days ago. I’m very excited to see what they look like. We have been busy working with troy university’s Small business division and i’m so excited about the opportunities this year will bring. We hope y’all have set some goals for this year and are working towards fulfilling them. Thank you for supporting local!
AVALON FARMS: Due to life circumstances, I have put all of Avalon Farm’s products on hold. That means none of our products will be available for now. I hate doing that but I hate even more canceling your orders last week and don’t want to have to do it again.
Starting in mid December I started experiencing pain in my left leg when I walk or stand for more than a couple minutes. Have not been able to get a diagnosis so far and we’re just doing the best we can.
Looking forward to a better Spring,
Wendy
Grows In Rows wanted to share some recent photos:
We look forward to seeing you next Friday at one of our pickup locations. Thank you for your interest and support of our efforts to bring you the healthiest, the freshest and the most delicious locally-produced foods possible!
The Wednesday Market: It's Ordering Time Again!
Good evening.
The Wednesday Market is open for orders. Please place your order by 10 p.m. Monday. Orders are ready for pick up between 2 and 4 p.m. Wednesday. See the website for this week’s product offerings. Here is the link: https://wednesdaymarket.locallygrown.net/market
Have you found something to do inside during this exceptionally cold day? We are cooking and meal prepping for the week. So far, we have made lentil soup and two pots of rice, and a pot roast is in the crockpot. We also plan to make vegetable curry and white chili. Maybe I’ll bake something if I don’t run out of energy.
Thank you for supporting Georgia Grown. Have a safe weekend and stay warm! We’ll see you at the Market.
Thanks,
Beverly
P.S. If you have questions about your order or if you need to contact us, please start with Nelda, as she is our primary market manager. I (Beverly) am also available, but I may not reply immediately. You may contact us by text, email, or phone call.
